Coursework includes an introduction to the many concepts, methods, and theories important to the field. Students find that there are a number of interesting areas of study including child development, adolescence, social psychology, health psychology, psychology of adulthood, neuroscience, abnormal human behavior, research, and psychology relating to business. Specialization can be achieved in clinical, applied, forensic, and health psychology. Entry to areas such as clinical, research, occupational or educational psychology often requires a postgraduate qualification following a first degree in psychology; however undergraduates may also find career opportunities in the private sector (e.g. marketing, personnel management) and the public sector (e.g. teaching, social/community work).
